The ICE is almost here in Florida

Well even though it is going to be in the 40's tonight ( a record in some places for this time of year in Florida) the ICE I'm talking about will be found indoors. I just received an email reminding me that the ICE is on the way. Now the photos give you an idea of what it's like but remember they are all hand carved so don't worry your sure to see something just as spectacular but different!

The hand carved ICE will be arriving November 17th and will be here in Florida until January 4, 2009.  It is part of the Orlando Gaylord Palms Resort "Best of Florida Christmas Celebration".  There are almost 2 million pounds of carved ice to admire, slide on, skate on, and enjoy.  Bring your mittens, camera, and don't worry the resort supplies a coat! You can buy your tickets online and go for a few hours or stay at te resort for a few nights.  After you come out I highly recommend the slightly spiked adult hot cocoa that you can purchase...

Last year my husband and I stayed overnight and had a great time!  We felt like a couple of kids and even made a gingerbread house! Ok so the coats are kind of Willy Wonka but that's part of the charm.

Shannon,

I love Ice Carvings and have a lot of respect of the people that do them.

How beautiful!  When I woke up this morning it was 34 but the sun is bright and it feels nice, although the wind is mighty chilly!

Cold in Florida. believe it. My blood has thinned out over the past few years, and I do feel it. One must go to see the ice carvings at Gaylord Palms in Orlando to truly appreciate the hard work that goes into each masterpiece. I've seen them over the last 2 years  and looking forward to going back this year.

Hi ANN  Aha - so you have it too....is that early for you to have it that cold?  Definitely is not the norm for here and supposed to be colder tonight.  It is a nice change but I was scrambling for clothes this morning.

Tony  Me too - amazing isn't it that temps in the 60's and 70's can feel so cold ... It is truly amazing and the pictures do not do it justice.  I'm hoping to get by again this year but bring my inlaws . They missed it last year and were disappointed.  Have fun!

Hi Midori  I know it's shocking how quickly it changed.  I was scrambling around for something to wear this a.m.  I have my big fuzzy slippers on now!  I hate cold feet - brrrr....
