Okay well hopefully Fay is yesterday's news by now. How'd it turn out? Not so bad. Naples fared well and it never became Hurricane Fay. She is a bit stubborn and may have set her sights back on the Gulf Coast. Let's hope not! My company has a press release to ease the minds of those who were bombarded with the media hype and couldn't be here for all the excitement.
Probably the biggest issue we had throughout the whole ordeal was water. We have had a wet summer and then an additional 8 inches in some areas just spells MESS. Unfortunately I am one of the residents who has to deal with the water and the mess. I had no electricity for the day yesterday and have several inches of standing water on my property. Ordinarily not a big deal however I have horses.
I have had to move my horses to the higher and dryer land around my house and for now am dealing with horses looking in the windows. I now know what a fish in a bowl feels like... They are fascinated with looking in and as I type this they are dozing outside my office window.
I have one huge favor to ask everyone... please ask Mother Nature to be kind and send us SUN! The water is receding s l o w l y.
Probably the best part of Yester-Fay was the sunset ( ok maybe that's not entirely true, 2am when the power came back on would top the list) In any case the sunset was spectacular. Don't you think?
As always I am At Home By The Gulf

Shannon,
Outstanding sunset picture. Love the title of your post. We had some wind - nothing much and lots of rain also. Now it's pounding Melbourne.
Steve
Hi Steve, Thanks - it was a beautiful way to end a long tiring day. Glad you didn't have the rain, seems some parts of Naples had very little and others well... you can see my backyard. Back to business as usual though :-)
Shannon,
Congrats on dodging the worst of the storm. We have our share of storms here and I know how stressful they can be. I am still watching Fay, as a few of the models have it moving back into the gulf and heading my way...
Hey Billy I hope she misses you - yes it can be stressful .. keep your eyes on her she's a fickle one - they even mentioned we could get more rain from her again... let's hope she goes elsewhere or better yet just disappears! Hang in there.
Shannon: Glad to hear that all is well. I am asking mother nature to send you some sun girl!!
Hi Dianne - thanks I need it sun and a good breeze - I think you probably need some rain up your way? Keep an eye on this darn Fay she is so tricky....
Dianne, All went well here, and what a beauty of a sunset. Got our first rain just a bit ago. LOL.
Shannon, I'm glad to hear that Fay didn't cause more problems. We recently weathered Eduardo. We actually could have used more rain. I'm sure your horses will miss not being able to look in the fish bowl.
Bob glad to hear you did ok with Fay.
Hi Marchel, Me too... I watched carefully when Eduardo hit really you needed more rain? I wish I could send you some :-) Yes the horses really I think want to come inside and check it out - very curious animals I have to draw the line somewhere though ! I hope you get the rain you need...
