Oh Boston your my home! I can't help but comment on my beloved Red Sox...It seems that important times in my life are embedded in a Red Sox timeline. For instance I met my husband back in 1986 during the Sox vs. Mets World Series..... It may have been a disappointing series but we are still going strong :-)
Although living in Virginia in 2004 I found myself back on Cape Cod planning to attend a friend's funeral. RED SOX fever was in full pitch with talk of the curse and everyone on edge. It was a sad time and I was grateful for the distraction of the final game. Our friend Andy, a Coastie, father, Sox Fan and remarkable human being, had a terrific tribute with everyone even the priest commenting during the service on the celebration going on and how Andy was smiling as the Sox finally took out the Yankees. Another notch in the timeline.
Now here we are back again... approaching my 20th wedding annivesary and the thrill is back. I don't know if it is the familiar Fenway stadium, the green monster, the memories of hot dogs and ice cream, but it all comes back the important times in my life , the important people... thoughts of going to a game with my dad when I was around 10 and the homeless guy begging on the way out ( hey kids remember every detail), listening to the Sox on the radio ( seemed there was only one station when the sox played), did anyone else drink milk out of 1975 Red Sox W.Series glasses - wish I had those now... watching the game with my grandfather one of his great enjoyments while he silently lost his battle to Parkinson's.... a lifetime of memories...
Today I went on a listing appointment way down here in Naples Florida. The seller was from New England with the lovely lilt to her r's ...and what did we spend most of our time talking about??? You guessed it , our favorite team! Instant connection.... We joked about how you hate to go to the bathroom because you might come back and find the team suddenly down 5 ... how we fight to stay awake, who are favorite players are, how Youks eyes blazed after he ducked last night....how hard Manny works and how easy he makes it look, Ortiz and his knee, on and on....I couldn't think of a more enjoyable way to spend my morning and once again Boston has the greatest fans! Watching here in Naples! We'll miss you tonight YOUK... Go Sox..
PS I got the listing.

congratulations on the world series....GOOD LUCK!!! Can't ask for a better listing appt. than the one you described.
